Diversity

So we have gravity and in Architecture, we cannot cut that out as a factor for obvious reasons. A stand out reason is because we would all have buildings that look like Tim Burton had an argument with David Lynch and as all hell broke loose, the Queen of fucking England walked in and said that they were no longer part of the EU. One of those things actually happened.

Materials is important because we haven't mastered the art of controlling air unless it's a symphonic fart expressing it's ode to rotten food from a place that used to be your favorite taco joint. No avocados were harmed in the process.

Artificial Intelligence is two words that need to be included as one because if you use Artificial as one word the there's no context and you end up describing that one time in a shitty office job when you made friends with the stripper next to you and all she could talk about at the time was how people think she has implants and then it spiraled even more after that and you wished you made better life choices ... "You have called RMG can I please start with your reference number".

Diversity is hella important ... why is it important ... well I'm from Penrith and it's a bass ackwards suburb about an hr from the city. Apart from the charming racially motivated catch phrases I had to endure in my youth ... if we didn't have diversity then I would have never had that Kebab from 'Memory Lane' with that garlic sauce and right amount of turkish spice ... I fuckin love food yo!

So on a more serious note the theory is simple:

"To ignore Artificial Intelligence and the diversity of materials at our fingertips and our minds, would be akin to ignoring gravity."

Excuse the grammar if that's what I fucked up in ... it's past 11pm and I think I swallowed a bug ... gross.

EXP2 Tram Stop

So I completely ditch 3Ds Max for this one, and I aint even mad about it. Why?? Well because my concept for this is simple ...

Concept = Combine "A Poetic Destruction" and "Combine works with the use of light"

All smooth sailing until I get to Lumion ... please see below

On the last two images above you'll notice that there is the beloved "Not Responding" text to let you know that it has crashed ... but of course it appears a half hour later because it's considerate like that.

The following are what the concepts are when mashed together;

See what I mean by simplicity ... draw some lines, apply golden ration, try to use the rule of thirds and add some different coloured pens for good measure ... a crack here and there too.

I also have my wonderful textures that took longer than it should have ... perhaps I should have been listening to Daft Punk rather than LoFi Chill.

Yeah the plan was to get the sketchup stuff out of the way and dress it up all nice in Lumion nestled with the UNSW campus, trees, a couple of benches, some grass and even animated people ... please refer back to the top of the post. Also ... Chris ... If you have managed to NOT get high blood pressure reading this and have managed to get this far ... I have a report explaining the model that I can email you once you give me an email address.

Dear Mom

So I have come to the realisation that I am a teenager trapped in a middle aged asian mans body. But really I am more like a unicorn ... when I sparkle I shit out rainbows and axonometric drawings. Being a Unicorn I have the sad task of having to use Agile management for my assignments ... so for those that do know, if something along that task list goes out of whack and require resources to be forwarded to that task, ARCH sadly has to be one of them.

But let's not focus on the negative shall we ... yesterday I almost died of repetitive strain injury as I sat at my desk doing ARCH assignments ... iteration after iteration after iteration only to realise that I completely suck at axonometric drawings. If you have read my previous posts you will see that this unicorn did not put Axonometric Sketches as a skill ... but hey look ... here I am ... happy and shit (hashtag smile).

There's few things I hate in the world ... a guy from High School, A mexican from TJ, popcorn husks getting stuck in your teeth and morons. I am now adding to this list Stacey and Sketchup. Why on earth would you make students use sketchup rather than 3Ds Max or some top shelf program ... I guarantee you it will be better than sketchup.










The model I had to make was based off the following two sketches;

 

The word above is "Stomp" and the word below is "Vintage". Please also accept this is my formal request to allow us to use the program of our choosing ... we should really have the whole brief as "guidelines" because uni  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But It's free

If my computer was a person and this person had a virus ... that virus would be called Sketchup. It's the cancer you find in a piece of KFC ... it's that piece of popcorn bit that gets stuck in between your teeth. Someone had the audacity to say "But Louie it's free" ... well Julia "Ebola" is free, do you see people lining up for that?!

Louie's Day Off?

Mathew Broderick never ages, he just colours his hair to make it look like he ages. During my childhood I would watch Ferris Bueller's Day Off and remain hopeful for a long time that my life would be like that ... pretending to be my girlfriends father (her parents divorced soo), driving off in my best friend's dad's car (he was poor) and singing and dancing in some parade (I grew up in Penrith so the best parade I got was the trolleys being collected by the dude driving the tractor around the plaza).

Well if anyone is up for it ... I think tomorrow we should all go to the city and go to some rich restaurant posing as The Sausage King of Chicago so we can stuff our faces with expensive bread and piss off the maître d' ... yes we would go to jail and sadly we have assignments to do ... but in theory we would have a great time.
